Operation of Charged Parking Department introduced in 2001. Octroi Tax was main source of income of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation but unfortunatly suspended in 1999. After suspension of Octroi Tax recovery of parking fees was assigned to this department and operation of recovery of parking fees running successfully till to date. It is apprise here that when the charged parking fees task was given few charged parking sites were started  and revenue was not enough and due to which the charged parking sites were increased and at present 42 charged parking sites are in operation.
