Department Details


The Director Land Management is the office Incharge of the following departments.

1- Resettlement Department.

2- Land & Estate Department.

The Resettlement Department came into being as a result of transfer of the administrative control of D.P Township from rehabilitation Department to KDA in November 1958 & since then this Department is looking after the control of the following townships which was previously looked after by the rehabilitation Department.

1- North Karachi Township.

2- Korangi Township.

3- Landhi Township.

4- Malir & Malir Extension Township.

5- Shah Faisal Township.

6- Qasba Township.

Major Functions:

1-     Allotment of all kinds of available Plots/Flat sites through ballot/auction Presently there is a ban on allotment of all kinds of plots as
        per Govt. of Sindh Notification No.SO(Co-ord)-IV/S&GAD/6-11-97 dated 2 7-08-1997.

2-     Transfer of Rights Mutation& Execution of Lease Deeds Etc.

3-     Cancellation of allotment/Leases of plots for default of payment or any other breach of terms & condition of allotment/Leases.

4-     Preparation of comments/reports required by courts of law P.O.S & all other Govt agencies.

5-     Verification of title document required by different agencies.

6-     Framing of rules for disposal of land according to ordinance/Act.

7-     Maintenance of the record of all KDA Schemes/Townships.

Details of Projects (In hand / Proposed).
That to enhance the income of the Land Management (KDA Wing) some proposal has already been submitted and the same proposal are under due consideration by Worthy Administrator, KMC. The proposal for enhancement of recovery was submitted to the Worthy Administrator alongwith draft Council Resolution for mutation, lease, transfer of individual flats, four wise to the owners after recovery of dues. Further more unofficially sub-divided plots (Town Houses, Bang lows) should be surcharged / penalized and after recovery of penalty such cases may be regularized. The Flat Sites, Town Houses etc built by the private sectors now comes within the limits of KDA/ KMC and they are using the infrastructure built by KMC / KDA. As such they may be bound to get their Flats mutated by KDA Wing / KMC.


The request be made for acquisition of about 500 hundred thousand acres land by Board of Revenue (BOR) for planning & development of plots for needy person like DHA City. As such it is requested to the Worthy Administrator to initiate issue at appropriate level.Similarly Land & Estate Department came into being some time during 1958-59.The Land & Estate Department consist of the following Schemes.
1- Old Nazimabad.
2- North Nazimabad.
3- North Karachi.
4- Federal B Area.
5- Clifton.
6- Guslhan-e-Iqbal.
7- Surjani Town.
8- KDA Scheme-1&1-A.
9- Metroville-I II & III.
10-Landhi Industrial Area.
11-Chandni Chowk.
12-Khudadad Colony.
13-Gulistan-e-Juhar-Ext-39-B 40.
The revenue will be generating from allotment of plots through open public auctions.
During the last 2 years more than 10000 cases fot Mutation Transfer lease deed & Mortage cases has been done after recovery of the fee & charge. The 4 Schemes i-e Gulistan-e-Juhar North Nazimabad North Karachi F.B. Area & Surjani Town have been computerized.
