Director General Karachi Development Authority Altaf Gohar Memon along with Chief Engineer KDA Abdul Samad Jamalani, Director Special Project Junaid Ahmed Siddiqui visited the ongoing development works across the city under the ADP Fund issued by the Government of Sindh.
Director General Karachi Development Authority Altaf Gohar Memon, along with Chief Engineer KDA Abdul Samad Jamalani and Director Special Projects Junaid Ahmed Siddiqui, paid a three-hour long visit to the ongoing development works across the city under the ADP fund released by the Sindh government. On this occasion, the Chief Engineer briefed the DG KDA and said that the concrete batten and wall work of Karimabad Underpass is progressing rapidly. Karimabad Underpass is one kilometer long and has two lanes. The construction of the underpass will cost Rs 3820 million, which will be completed this year with ADP funds. The quality of construction work has been kept at a high standard especially for Karimabad Underpass. After the completion of the Karimabad Underpass project, the citizens, especially the citizens of Liaquatabad Town and Federal B Area, will have increased comfortable travel facilities in a short time. Director General Altaf Gohar Memon, expressing satisfaction with the construction of the underpass, issued instructions to complete the reconstruction of the underpass before the stipulated time by removing obstacles during the construction work and increasing machinery and manpower. Later, the DG KDA reviewed the development works under the supervision of expert and experienced engineers of Karachi Development Authority on 4-K Chowrangi to Lyari Nadi Yousaf Goth Road. On this occasion, the concerned officials briefed the DGKDA and said that the construction of 4-K Chowrangi to Lyari Nadi Yousaf Goth Road will cost about Rs 499.818 million, while a double track road with a length of 8,400 feet and a width of 36 feet is being constructed. Along with the construction of the road, the process of laying 72, 36, 24 and 12 inch sewage pipelines for the sewage system is underway. In addition, footpaths are being established on both sides of the road. He further said that a water drainage system has been installed around the aforementioned roads, due to which water will not accumulate on the road during rains. The development work is in the final stages of completion. The DGKDA reviewed the development work to establish roads on Surjani Town Yousaf Goth, Karimi Road to Sindhri Chowk. On this occasion, Chief Engineer KDA Abdul Samad Jamalani was directed to immediately remove obstacles during the construction of roads and ensure that high quality materials are used during the construction of roads. The concerned officials briefed the DG KDA and informed that a 6-km long two-way road will be constructed in Gujranwala, construction work of Yasinabad via Ayesha Manzil, Landi Kotal Nallah is underway. In addition, the construction of service roads has also been started around Shahrah Noor Jahan and Shahrah Humayun. The construction work of the flyover to connect Gujranwala and Lyari Expressway is underway under the supervision of expert engineers of KDA. DG KDA Altaf Gohar Memon has issued clear instructions to the concerned authorities that the ongoing development works across the city should be completed before the stipulated time and there is no scope for negligence or negligence during the ongoing development works. In addition, the use of defective materials will not be tolerated at all. Strict action will be taken against the officers and employees guilty of negligence. Chief Engineer KDA Abdul Samad Jamalani, Director Special Project Junaid Ahmed Siddiqui, Executive Engineer Surjani Town Abbas Ali Khan and other officers were present during the visit.
