Minister Local Government Sindh Saeed Ghani and DG KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui hoisted the flag on the occasion of Independence Day at Civic Center.
A grand ceremony was organized by the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day at the Civic Center Building. The chief guest was Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, after which DG KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui hoisted the national flag and cut the cake on the occasion of Independence Day. Speaking, Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani extended his greetings to all the countrymen on the occasion of Independence Day and paid tribute to the martyrs of the motherland. He further said that it is our good fortune that we got to see another Independence Day in our lifetime and this time there were a lot of Independence Day celebrations all over the country and there was a lot of enthusiasm among the people. The Sindh government organized a lot of events, in which the Sports Department organized more than 160 events. The Culture Department and the Local Government Department also organized a lot of events. He further said that I think that after many years we saw so many activities in our cities regarding Independence Day. A big reason for this was the brilliant success of Pakistan's Pakistani Army, Pakistani Air Force, and Pakistani Navy, due to which the name of the Pakistani nation was raised with pride all over the world. It was very important that we celebrate the victory against India along with Independence Day. The Pakistani nation proved that during this war the nation remained united and national solidarity was seen, all this for the sake of our country. It is very important, because in our country there are some enemies and opponents who want to divide the Pakistani nation on political, linguistic, religious and sectarian grounds. Allah Almighty has given us the opportunity to come out of these differences and unite under the flag of the country. We have to continue this series. The way we celebrated this 14th of August 2025, may Allah give us life, we will celebrate the next 14th of August 2026 in the same way. During the ceremony, the students of KDA School presented national songs in addition to the national anthem. On this occasion, Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani and DG KD Asif Jan Siddiqui also planted a sapling in the Civic Center Sabzazar. DG KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui was accompanied by Chief Engineer KDA Abdul Samad Jamlani, Secretary KDA Arshad Khan, Director Parks Haji Shakeel Ahmed, Director DPUD Shahab Mangi, Director IT Nasir Khan, Director Finance Muhammad Kashif Siddiqui, Director Admin Salmanullah Sharafat, Director Recovery Abbas Ali, President KDA CBA Employees Union Abdul Marouf, Chief Secretary KDA People's Labor Union Muhammad Ashraf and a large number of other officers and employees were present at the ceremony.
