Dignified Independence Day ceremony at the Karachi Development Authority; KDA Director General Asif Jan Siddiqui performs the flag-hoisting.

On the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, a dignified and nationalistic ceremony was organized by the Karachi Development Authority at the Civic Center Building, in which officers, employees and students of KDA School participated in full force. The ceremony formally began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, after which Director General KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui hoisted the national flag. The feelings of national unity, patriotism and love for the homeland were prominent on the occasion of the flag hoisting. Later, the Director General also cut a cake in celebration of Independence Day. Speaking on the occasion, DG KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui congratulated all Pakistanis on Independence Day and paid tribute to the martyrs who made eternal sacrifices for the establishment of Pakistan. He said that living in a free homeland is a great blessing and fortune for us from Allah Almighty. Every year, Independence Day reminds us of the struggle, sacrifices and determination of our elders and national heroes. He said that Independence Day is not just a national festival but also a day of renewal of commitment. We should fulfill our responsibilities for the progress, stability, prosperity and development of Pakistan with honesty and sincerity. He expressed his resolve that the Karachi Development Authority will continue to fulfill its responsibilities more effectively for the betterment of the city and public service. During the ceremony, the students of KDA School presented national songs and the national anthem, the enthusiastic and beautiful presentation of the students was highly appreciated by the participants. Gifts were also distributed on this occasion to encourage the students. On this occasion, honorary shields were presented to the soon-to-retire officers of KDA. At the end of the ceremony, a separate and extensive Haleem was also organized by Muhammad Ashraf for the participants under the auspices of the KDA administration and the People's Labor Union, in which officers and employees including DG KDA participated. The ceremony was attended by Director General KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui, Member Finance KDA Naveed Anwar Siddiqui, Chief Engineer Abdul Samad Jamlani, Secretary KDA Arshad Khan, CBA Chairman Abdul Marouf and committee members, as well as officers, employees and other relevant personalities from various departments. This Independence Day ceremony highlighted the resolve that it is the common responsibility of all of us to play our positive role at every level for the development of Pakistan, national unity and public service. ‎
