Director General Karachi Development Authority Naveed Anwar along with Chief Engineer made an emergency visit to the ongoing development works at Shahrah Faisal and Drigh Road beautification.

Director General Karachi Development Authority Naveed Anwar along with Chief Engineer made a long emergency visit to the ongoing development works across the city. During the visit, DG KDA not only reviewed the ongoing development works at different places of the city but also sought details from the suspended officials present on the spot. Chief Engineer Tarif Rafi while giving a briefing said that 7 digital arteries SMD are being installed on the 18 km long road from Airport to Shahrah Faisal, of which 4 will be installed at the entrance of the airport and 3 at the exit. Apart from this, in the first phase of Phase 1, an RCC boundary wall is being constructed to hide the shops around Falknaz Tower, on which high quality material is being used. The beauty of the surroundings will increase further and the delegates coming from abroad will get a positive image of the city of Karachi. New plants and trees and modern style footpaths are being established on Shahrah Faisal while green belts, benches and lights are also being installed along the footpaths so that the citizens can enjoy the pleasant environment. On the instructions of caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (retd) Syed Maqbool Baqir, the services of a renowned architect of Pakistan are being hired, which will be completed by the engineers of Karachi Development Authority. He further informed DG KDA that the process of beautification on Shahrah Faisal and beautification of Drug Road underpasses is going on rapidly, there are strong possibilities that the development process will be completed before the stipulated period. On the other hand, the DG KDA Marine Walk Clifton was inspected on the occasion of the visit. Chief Engineer Tariq Rafi told DG KDA that about 3000 feet of road in Marine Walk Phase 1 from Hyperstar Clifton to Dua Chowrangi is in the final stages of completion, the road consists of 33 feet double track while the sides of the road are 12, 12-foot footpaths will be constructed with 24-inch long lines laid for drainage (rainwater drainage) systems. Walkway tracks, parks, green belts, international-style restaurants, shops and playgrounds will surround the Marine Walk. Construction work is going on for the establishment of land. After the completion of the project, recreational and healthy facilities will be available to the residents of the city. The Chief Engineer briefed the DG KDA in detail about the obstacles during the completion of the project, after which the DG KDA issued instructions to the concerned authorities to remove all the obstacles and speed up the completion of the project. The Government of Sindh and Karachi Development Authority are fully serious and committed and for the convenience and welfare of the people, the scope of development work is being expanded in all the districts of the city on a fair basis. Practical steps are being taken to make the city the cradle of international standards and lights, the better results of which will start to be seen soon. During the visit, Chief Engineer Tariq Rafi, Superintendent Engineer Rahat Faheem, Executive Engineer Syed along with DG KDA. Raza, Executive Engineer Urooj Imam, Assistant Executive Engineer Muhammad Irfan, Sub Engineer Tabriz and other officers were present.
