Leaves of all KDA employees and offices have been cancelled by Director-General Karachi Development Authority Syed Shujat Hussain, owing to the rain emergency declared in Karachi.
Director-General Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Syed Shujaat Hussain, has cancelled the leaves of relevant officers and staff in anticipation of heavy rains. He instructed Chief Engineer Tariq Rafi to ensure emergency drainage of rainwater in KDA townships and schemes, with all executive engineers and staff required to remain in the field 24/7. Necessary machinery like dewatering pumps and generators should be kept operational, and warning boards should be placed around open manholes and road potholes. A Rain Emergency Cell has been established at the KDA's central office to address drainage issues reported by citizens. Chief Engineer Tariq Rafi appointed three engineers as focal persons for the emergency cell, ensuring round-the-clock duty. The DG KDA has warned that negligence during the drainage process will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against any responsible officers or staff.
