Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah chaired the 1199th Governing Body meeting of the Karachi Development Authority at the Civic Center. Additional Secretary Local Government Dr. Shamshad was also present on this occasion. A detailed review of various administrative, financial and development issues of the institution was taken up in the meeting. During the meeting, Director General KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui informed the Sindh Local Government Minister that payment of dues of the retired employees of the institution is among the top priorities. He requested the Minister of Local Government that with his cooperation, timely payment of the dues of the retired employees can be made possible. On this occasion, Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah directed that the salaries and pensions of the employees of the institution should be paid on priority basis as this is the fundamental right of the employees. He suggested that money be obtained from the Sindh government in the form of a loan to pay the dues, which the institution can later repay. He said that delay in the dues of employees is tantamount to violation of their rights and payment of pension and dues of retired employees should be the top priority. DG KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui told the Minister of Local Government that the dues of the institution are also due to the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA). On this, the Minister of Local Government Sindh decided to form a committee which will review these dues and submit its recommendations. In the meeting, DG KDA informed that the institution intends to take action against the occupants of its lands in the future. The Minister of Local Government Sindh directed that first all the plots should be cleared of encroachments and later they should be put up for auction. He also said that the price of the plots should be determined by a third party so that a better price can be obtained. The Sindh Local Government Minister also directed to expedite development works in Surjani Town and said that the elimination of encroachments in development areas should be ensured and KDA should take practical steps to reclaim all its lands. The governing body meeting also approved the upgrading of the post of Director Legal. On this occasion, Abdul Marouf Sadr, President of KDA Employees Union, presented a charter of demand on behalf of CBA, which was approved by the Minister for Local Government keeping in mind the welfare of the employees. In the meeting, a request was also made to take steps regarding the promotion of employees from grade 1 to 15, on which the Minister for Local Government Sindh assured positive consideration. The Minister for Local Government Sindh directed that public complaints regarding files and records in KDA should be immediately redressed and action should be taken against the concerned officer in case of any complaint. DG KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui informed the meeting that a plan has been prepared to digitize the land records of the institution, which will be implemented soon. The meeting also decided to auction the scrap in the pie factory, while orders were issued to prepare a complete estimate for the payment of dues and pensions of retired employees so that a permanent solution to this problem could be found. On this occasion, Member Administration / Senior Director Land Shakeel Siddiqui, Member Finance Nisar Ahmed Khan, Secretary KDA Arshad Khan, Director DPUD Rafiq Ahmed Khuhro, Director Land Atif Naqvi, Director Finance Nasir Khan, Director IT Abbas Ali, Deputy Director Budget Sohail Basit, Budget Officer Muhammad Nasir Khan, Superintendent Budget Muhammad Adeel and other officers were present.
