A project to transform an unused space under a bridge in the Central District of Karachi into a beautiful, attractive, and spacious recreational area for the public has been completed under the supervision of the Karachi Development Authority. The aim of this project is to provide a healthy and positive recreational environment to the citizens by utilizing the unused spaces of the city in a better way. Following the instructions of the Department of Local Government and Housing and Town Planning, Government of Sindh, the Karachi Development Authority completed various renovation and beautification works at the said place, after which this place has taken the form of a beautiful and public recreational place. At the inauguration ceremony of the project, under the instructions and patronage of the Minister for Local Government, Government of Sindh, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab formally inaugurated the project on August 30, 2026. Superintending Engineer KDA Junaid Siddiqui, along with relevant officers and other distinguished personalities were also present on the occasion. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab said that it is the need of the hour to transform the unused and deserted spaces in the city into beautiful, green and public facilities. Such projects not only provide better recreational facilities to the citizens but also help in improving the overall beauty and environment of the city. He further said that the Karachi Development Authority is continuing to work on various development and beautification projects to provide a better environment and quality facilities to the citizens, while in the future also steps will be taken to make unused spaces usable in different areas of the city for the public interest.
